North Greece Fire and Life Safety Bureau
Bio: Pete Sidari

Fire Safety Educator Pete Sidari was hired on July 28, 2003 to take over for Captain Dave Walker who was moving on to other obligations. Pete came to North Greece with 24½ years of firefighting background as a volunteer with the Albion Fire Department in Albion, NY. He was also on the Fire Prevention team in Albion. He had recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science Education. He is currently working on his Master of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies (with a focus on Media Influence in Adolescent Decision-Making) at SUNY Brockport. With this background in both important areas of education and the fire service, Pete makes up a solid part of the Fire and Life Safety team at North Greece.

Pete’s volunteer work extends beyond the fire service. He has been a volunteer counselor for Camp Good Days and Special Times (a camp for children with cancer) for the past 18 years. He also volunteered for two similar camps in the 1990’s: a camp in Nashville, Tennessee (4 years); and a camp in Danville, Pennsylvania (10 years). He has been a Youth Group leader in his church for the past 11 years as well as an instructor of Religious Education for the past 12 years.

Pete’s duties at North Greece include researching, planning, implementing, and evaluating fire safety programs in the schools and community. He is also in charge of all scheduling of fire safety programs and tours for the district.
