Safety House:
The North Greece Fire District has recieved a new tool in their efforts to promote fire and life safety throughout the fire district and the Town of Greece. A new Safety House trailer has been obtained through a Federal Emergency Management Assocation (FEMA) grant. This Safety House will add to the already existing fire and life safety program that is in place in the district. The Safety House, a 39 foot trailer, is complete with a kitchen and bedroom with plenty of space to conduct classes. The focus will be on teaching fire and life safety to the public, especially in the areas of kitchen safety and home fire escape planning.
The Safety House, manufactured by Mobile Concepts by Scotty, has several special effects including simulated smoke (theater fog), working smoke alarms, and a working in-house 911 phone system. This Safety House will allow the fire and life safety team of NGFD to take their program "on the road." Programs are currently being set up and the Safety House trailer should be available to the public sometime in May. The Fire and Life Safety Team is very excited about the possibilities of reaching an even greater audience with our fire safety messages!
