School Programs

North Greece Fire and Life Safety Bureau
Pre-K and Kindergarten programs:

Pre –K:
During the early years, our goal is to introduce the children to what a fire fighter does, looks like and the idea that we are part of the community that is here to help them in an emergency. We try to meet with them twice a year and we start our classes, usually no more than 35 minutes, with our Tools & Toys Program and then lead it into our Friendly Firefighter Program.

Our second visit to the Pre-K children involves us just going to their room and reading fire safety stories to them in our uniforms.

Kindergarten:
We try to visit out Kindergarten children twice each year as well. In our first visit, we introduce fire safety concepts to our children using the NFPA video “Sparky’s ABC’s of Firesafety”. After the video, there is some discussion and role playing of Crawl Low Under Smoke and Stop Drop and Roll. We discuss the importance of each as well as the importance of a meeting place, too. From there we lead into our Friendly Firefighter Program.

Our second visit to the Kindergarten children, like the Pre-K, involves us simply going to their room and reading fire safety stories to them in our uniforms.
