Engines 276 & 277

On October 29th, the North Greece Fire District received delivery of two new fire trucks built by Crimson Fire. The new engines replaced Engine 276 and Engine 277. They were purchased on an angreement made with Crimson Fire in 2004 when North Greece purchased Engine 275 together with Lakeshore Engine 2032. (More can be read about that purchase here.) The three new trucks (275, 276 and 277) allows our firefighters that are familiar with one of them to be familiar with all three of the Career Engines as they are essentially identical.

The old "Attack 276" and "Attack 277" had 50,000 and 75,000 miles on them which are more than desired for emergency vehicles. The old ones were and as of November 5th, the new ones are, manned by the career staff out of each of our three fire stations, meaning that one of these engines responds to just about every single call that the Fire District receives. Engine 276 is based in our Station 1, and 277 at Headquarters.

The agreement with Crimson Fire to buy these two new engines allowed us to acquire them at the same price as Engine 275 was purchased for in 2004. With the continuing increase of costs in labor and materials, this arrangement made it very advantageous to the North Greece Fire District.
