Congressional Fire Service Institute
Commissioners Ken Preston and Al Camp recently attended the 19th Annual Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) in Washington, D.C. Fire service leaders from around the country joined together on Capitol Hill and interacted directly with members of Congress addressing the challenges and requirements that face today’s first responders, especially post 9/11. The history of the CFSI is impressive and their work has resulted in a number of victories for firefighters and rescue personnel. The Institute affords fire service leaders the ability to petition first-hand Federal government leaders for financial assistance to meet today’s requirements, as well as, participate in pertinent educational seminars. The North Greece Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners felt this was an excellent opportunity to participate for the first time in the CFSI in an effort to help reduce costs here at home for our own resident taxpayers. Commissioners Preston and Camp met with Names in photograph (L to R, Commissioner Al Camp, Congressman Tom Reynolds, Commissioner Ken Preston)
