North Greece Fire District Dispatch:

|
The Dispatchers:
The North Greece Fire District is an Incident Routing agency. This means that when a call is received by the 9-1-1 telecommunicator, it is routed electronically to the Communications room at North Greece. "Tones" are set off which activate members' voice pagers, and the Dispatchers put out the call over the radio.
North Greece employs 4 career dispatchers working 24/7. On top of these career dispatchers, there are a few part-time personnel that are trained for the task. Not only are the North Greece dispatchers responsible for dispatching the more than 3500 calls every year for North Greece, but they also dispatch for the Lake Shore Fire District and for the Greece Volunteer Ambulance. This cooperation improves communication between those agencies that often are working on the same job, and helps decrease the costs of operations for all agencies involved.
